Have a bright and sunny weekend!

Hopefully it won’t get too hot. Links to keep you cool:

I love the idea of making your own chocolate chips. She flavors them with green tea and lavender.

If you’re traveling to a beach this weekend, collect some salt water and make your own sea salt. What a unique souvenir.

Loving this Father’s Day planter idea, mostly because it’s a dinosaur!

Everything about this loft is absolutely dreamy.

What are your thoughts on reverse French manicures? You can give yourself one with this tutorial.

I thought I was over the grey and yellow color combination until I saw them used in this vintage-inspired bridal shower party.

Hello friends. Another weekend is upon us. This one will include blueberry picking and craft beer tasting. This summer is turning into a cheery one.

I want so very much to make a poncho top [tutorial]. How perfect and lightweight for summer.

Take some old handkerchiefs and make them into panties! What a great upcycle.

I’ve mentioned my love of asparagus here before. Well, perhaps its only rival is my love of cake. Now I can have both with this brilliant asparagus cake.

Jordan Ferney’s DIY photo booth printables are so hip and fun. I need to find an occasion to set up my own photo booth.

Have a good weekend!

I love this image. Did you ever read The Little Prince when you were younger? It was one of my favorites.

It’s that time of the week again. Happy weekend all. I plan to eat more grilled food and take a kayaking trip on one of our local rivers. I love kayaking. Northwest Florida is truly a heaven of outdoor treasure.

Anyway, here are some links I’ve been dying to share.

How cute is this umbrella frock? She turned an umbrella into a dress for a costume project.

I’m loving these lace trimmed shorts.

And I can’t tell you how much I’ve been desiring this Kate Spade bag.

I’m still enamored by the terrarium craze. I thought this sewed terrarium tutorial is a unique and beautiful way to display them. Also, glass doesn’t break when the cats knock them over.

These coffee stencils are a great way to make your favorite coffee lover (or yourself) feel special.

Have you ever had a beer cocktail? I had my first one a year ago. They can be so refreshing and strong. I cannot wait to make this raspberry beer cocktail on a hot summer day.

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Do you have anything special planned? Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see my mom, but a phone call is planned. My boyfriend ordered a great grill [the other one broke], and it should arrive today, so I think we’ll spend all weekend eating grilled food. I can’t wait.

In honor of that, I spent a good twenty minutes reading The Kitchn’s 33 Recipes & Tips for Grilling, Gardening, and Eating Outside. Which included a recipe for grilled pizza and grilled guacamole.

And more links to make your Friday a happy one:

Here’s a cute way to make those left over toilet paper rolls into a pretty piece of art.

Save your leftover sewing scraps and transform them into fancy cartography.

I just love images of bento and want to make my own. Here are five tips for packing a bento lunch.

I’m dreaming of these vibrant kitchen towels.

Since not all of us have professional make up artists on call, this tutorial on how to contour your face can help enhance facial attributes.

And finally, slow cooker mac and cheese – yes and yes.

Have a happy Mother’s Day and a great weekend.

From Moon In Her Eyes

Happy Weekend! I just got an email inviting me to a midnight picnic. What a great idea. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Here are some links to get you through the Friday workday.

In fact, the just out of bed look doesn’t come from waking up in the morning, there’s a science and find out how to do sexy & tousled hair.

I love this skirt, and there’s a tutorial.

This cheap Easter craft is really brilliant.

Here’s a tutorial for a weekender bag. It looks highly useful and functional, but also pretty involved. Regardless, I want to make it.

Things to dream about: sexy and serene bedrooms.

Make something exciting this weekend: Potato Pizza with Rosemary and Brie or Hot Fudge Root Beer Cupcakes.

Here are some links to get you through the weekend.

What a dream house.

A fun crocheted marius cover.

Apartment Therapy shows you how to turn your table into a work of art with their post on How to Tile a Table.

A basic zipper pouch tutorial, because you can never have too many zipper pouches.

This has to be one of the prettiest dress refashions I’ve ever seen.

J. Crew’s new swimwear collection is outstanding with many tasteful and adorable one-pieces. My favorites: here, here, here, and here.

Healthy and Sane rounds up the best breakfast ideas. Breakfast pizza? Count me in.

The cutest luau themed cupcakes. You can totally do these, they look too easy.

And a special thanks to the Velvet Bird’s miracle toner recipe, which has saved my skin this week.

Hey, it’s me!

You bet I did that in Microsoft Paint. I had some time to kill, so I started taking glamor shots with my webcam. Don’t pretend like you don’t do it.

Happy Weekend! Oh, right, and Spring Break! I have the next week off of work. It’s one of the perks working in education. Here are a few links for the weekend. But first a confession – My Google Reader queue is over 1,000+ right now. I’m really behind, so it’s slim pickins for this edition of weekender. Does an excessive blog reading queue happen to anyone else? What do you do to remedy it?

How cute is this circus-themed party?

The circus cookies are so cute: elephants, seals, giraffes. I could eat them all up! (And maybe feel a little guilty afterward.) Look at the tent cake in the back, what a smart interpretation. Found at Hello Lucky via Jordan Ferney.

I love the idea of color coordinating books in a bookshelf – a more modern approach to the dewy decimal system, perhaps.

Small talk: Is anyone else excited for this three day weekend? It’s the talk of the coffee pot at work. Due to some spare time, I promise you two, maybe three handmades for next week. Until then, here are some link:

I can’t wait to try this ruffled tank tutorial. It give a nice, elegant look to the sometimes too casual tank top. Too bad it’s too cold to be wearing them. via Adventures in Dressmaking

Another sewing project: turn an over-sized knit sweater into a lovely knit skirt. I’ve never sewn on yarn-knit before, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. I just have a fear of the yarn being devoured by my machine. Has this happened to you? Thoughts?  via Blooming Leopold Vintage.

Oh, this bed is beautiful and handmade. What’s that you say? Less than $200? Yes please. This is something I’d love to put in my future farmhouse.

Chances are, you’ve seen this picture floating around the blogosphere and had a similar envy-filled reaction that I did.

the weekender: new year’s eve dress edition

It’s already New Year’s Eve. Everything about it is so overwhelming.

    2010 Recaps:
Graduating and officially starting my life
Being fortunate enough to find a job I love right out of college
Going to Portland with my best friend
Serving as editor of The Yeti and publishing its first issue in years
Starting a running club – one of the hardest things I’ve ever done
Being with my boyfriend, who makes me happy every day of my life
Starting this blog, which was terrifying

I’ll work on my 2011 goals in another post.

Until then here are some gorgeous dresses to drool over. I wish I was wearing these tonight (all @ Modcloth).
