I’m very excited for this post. I received an Amazon Kindle for Christmas, and it certainly has changed my life. Ok, maybe that’s an overstatement, but I’m already 90% done [kindle keeps track of percentage] with my January book, and we aren’t even in the last days of the month.
I decided to thank my kindle by creating a lovely sleeve for it.
The fabric was initially for a laptop sleeve that I planned on making last year, but someone stole that laptop, and the replacement was a different size. The inside is padded with some quilting batting, and lined with a lovely green and blue paisley pattern.
Snug as a bug. I used this pattern, which you can download for free over at Sweetie Pie Bakery.
Also, this is my first time hand embroidering. What do you think?
I drew the pattern on some grid paper and stitched over it. Some of the stitches are a little too long, or loose, beginners mistake.
I hope some of you try this at home, it really was super easy and a cheaper alternative to those pricey Kindle cases.
Nice! I just made some sleeves too, also my first try. One is similar to yours. Check em out here: http://onlythesmall.blogspot.com/
I got a Kindle for Christmas too and had to make a case for it. I haven’t posted the pics yet but when I do I’ll send you a link. I LOVE the embroidery on yours. I may have to make another. Who says my Kindle has to have only one outfit?
