Hello friends. This weekend, I’m spending a lot of time at home. I just moved my cats into the new apartment and I want to keep an eye on things. My roommate also has a cat, so we’re spending a lot of times doing cat introductions. They can be such grumpy creatures. But it’s so worth it, especially when they take naps with you.

It’s a beautiful weekend. I hope to get a little bit of baking done and a little bit more unpacking. I hope to show you the place, when it finally comes together.

Erik Klein Wolterink takes photos of ethnic kitchens. There is so much to look at. How do they differ from yours?

This Anthropologie Plate Wall D.I.Y. is such a pretty way to decorate a wall.

I must have had a major sweet tooth while collecting links this week. First, Salted Caramel Ice Cream Cake Shots, and then this banana cake. I couldn’t decide!

I’m in the process of decorating the apartment, and this bean bag roundup has inspired me.

These D.I.Y. marquee lights look so professional, yet so easy to make.

This is really the best way to end the post. This giant sleeping cat couch is perfect.

Happy weekend before Valentine’s Day! Do you have any plans with a special someone? I’m hoping to do a romantic (or sweaty) bike ride with a picnic. Here are some links for your weekend.

I feel like I’m late in the game here, but the Antrhopologie Wedding Dresses are simply gorgeous. From: Glamour, Katie Armour, and A Cup of Jo.

This was a great week for crafts.

Good Morning. I’ve had a great couple of weeks. How about you? This week there has been a lot of socializing, a lot of beer, a lot of decadent food, and a lot of cuddling with kittens and a good book.

I wanted to share some things that I have been adoring in the blogosphere.

Anastassia Elias has discovered a way to make left over toilet paper rolls into an artistic piece of decor. This is her Roulex line.

Aren’t these lovely fiber optic lights?

Kiera over at A Pretty Penny did a D.I.Y. Natural Deodorant that seems pretty legit. I’ve tried quite a few handmade deodorants, but none of them seem to stick – literally. She might have figured it out with the coconut oil. She gave it a “platinum seal of approval.” I think I may try it.

If you’re like me and pretty much missed out on all of the important lessons of being a girl, Cubicle Chic’s d.i.y. manicure might help you out.

Do you like candy corn? I don’t. I think it’s disgusting, but there always seems to be a surplus of it around this time of year. Here’s an idea of what to do with that horrendous treat.

Also, where did candy corn get its name? It doesn’t really look or taste like corn.

Good Morning. I hope everyone does something fun this weekend. It’s well worth it.

Here is some food porn to make you wish you weren’t on that diet: 15 Desserts that Could Replace the Trendy Cupcake.

These are Bakerella’s famous Cake Pops (not credited on site, or at least, I couldn’t find it.) These are the first in a line of crazy cake pops that she’s done. They’re incredibly hard to make. Mine turned out more like cake lumps, but I’m going to try them again.

Apartment Therapy has me wishing I lived under the sea with more marine life art.

Really, it took a lot of effort not to add the giant octopus triptych print as the main photo. Because, I don’t want to be that girl. But you should really check it out. However, the jellyfish is equally stunning.

Here are some old photos of the All-American Cowgirl. My favorite is this cowgirl fashion one.

Before I depart on a Friday filled with work, then fun, I’d like to share this Zen Habits post on The Brief Guide to Life. I’ve been reading it every day. Zen Habits is one of my favorite blogs. This is copied from the site:

    the brief guide

    less TV, more reading
    less shopping, more outdoors
    less clutter, more space
    less rush, more slowness
    less consuming, more creating
    less junk, more real food
    less busywork, more impact
    less driving, more walking
    less noise, more solitude
less focus on the future, more on the present
    less work, more play
    less worry, more smiles
    breathe

Happy weekend, all. I’m going camping for a birthday and celebrating my friend’s cancer-free body. I hope everyone finds something fantastic to laugh at.
